The Brabham BT62 made a spectacular racing debut by winning the Britcar Endurance Championship "Into the Night" race at Brands Hatch. Jack Brabham’s racing debut is at Paramatta Park Speedway in Australia driving midget cars. He goes on to win the New South Wales Championship and Australian Speedcar Championship the following year.

1961
The 1961 Brabham BT1 originally designated MRD1, was the very first car produced under the Brabham name, marking the beginning of one of motorsport’s most respected constructor legacies. Designed by Ron Tauranac and built in collaboration with Jack Brabham, the BT1 was engineered for Formula Junior and embodied the practical, lightweight, and highly efficient philosophy that would define Brabham cars for decades.

1961
In 1961, Jack Brabham and the rear-engined Cooper Climax stunned the Indianapolis racing establishment by proving that lightness, balance, and Grand Prix engineering could outperform the traditional front-engined roadsters. Though Brabham finished ninth, his groundbreaking effort demonstrated the future of Indy car design, igniting a rapid shift toward rear-engine technology that transformed the sport within just a few years. Leaving Cooper at the end of the 1961 F1 season, Jack Brabham officially establishes the Brabham marque with Ron Tauranac. They begin to build Brabham’s reputation in custom car construction - and the company will go on to take four Drivers’ and two Constructors’ Formula One World Championships over its history.

1967
Denny Hulme won the 1967 Formula 1 World Drivers’ Championship driving for Brabham, playing a key role in the team securing its second successive Constructors’ Championship. Showcasing exceptional race-craft and consistency in the Brabham BT24, Hulme combined the car’s balanced, reliable design with his calm, methodical driving style. His performances earned him a deserved world title and made him New Zealand’s first— and still only — Formula 1 world champion.
1970
Jack Brabham wins the South African Grand Prix in Kyalami, driving a BT33. This is his 14th and last Formula 1 victory, 11 years after his first.
1966
Jack Brabham becomes the first (and still only) driver to win the F1 Drivers’ and Constructors’ Championships in BT19 - a car of his own construction bearing his name, powered by Repco’s V8 engine. He is awarded the OBE and Australian of the Year in recognition of his achievements.



1959
Jack Brabham wins his first F1 Grand Prix at Monaco driving a Cooper T51. He goes on to take his first F1 Championship in spectacular fashion at the US Grand Prix that year, pushing the T51 over the finishing line after it runs out of fuel and become Australia’s first Formula 1 World Champion.

Jack Brabham wins his second F1 World Championship at Circuito da Boavista, Oporto in Portugal as a Cooper Car Company team driver in a Cooper T53.

1964
The Brabham Formula 1 team achieved its first Grand Prix victory on July 5, 1964, at the French Grand Prix in Rouen, with Dan Gurney delivering a masterful drive in the sleek Brabham BT7. Built by Jack Brabham’s young team and powered by a Coventry Climax engine, the car combined balance, reliability, and Gurney’s smooth, precise driving style to outlast and outrun more established rivals.

1981
Geoff Brabham delivered a standout performance in his first Indianapolis 500 in 1981, finishing an impressive 5th and showing immediate speed and composure on the sport’s biggest oval stage. His debut also added a new chapter to the Brabham family’s connection with the event with Geoff making his debut 20 years after his father.
